about

This one came out of a jam Andy, Marc and Jez had while Andrew was touring stand up in Australia. The original riff is Jez's, although it evolved slightly. It was originally meant to have a kind of Cramps/Misfits horror-rock feel. When Andrew returned and heard it he wrote the middle section, and beefed the riff up a lot. It became our default set opener immediately, and there was never any question about what song would open the album.

Originally there were a couple more verses, where Albert swells in size then is incased in gold looking over the Albert Hall. Alas, cut for brevity.
